For those familiar with the celebrated “American Choreography Awards” (ACA), the biggest annual choreography gala awards ceremony in the US (on hiatus since 2004), this new event continues its mission: “to honor the craft of choreography in the media, and to raise the visibility for those who create it.” As dance and choreography continue to move into the foreground across all mediums, this special screening at the DGA is a unique opportunity to view the best from mainstream and independent films, television, music videos, and commercials.

Selected from an international pool of talent by a blue ribbon panel of industry professionals, choreographers will be honored in each of the following categories:

Outstanding Achievement in:

  • Feature Film
  • Short Film
  • Television Episodic
  • Television Variety or Special
  • Music Video
  • Commercials
  • Documentary (features & shorts) for Special Acknowledgement
